‘The Mermaid’ is a fictitious scene of life on the banks of the River Thames in London, England. Central to the image is the pub The Mermaid where people are imbibing and generally having a good time. Below, on the river, a priest is rowed past the scene of revelry while a fishtail disappears into the depths of the river. Could this be a mermaid?

This print is an etching and aquatint made on a copper plate. It is printed on Somerset Velvet, a heavyweight 300 gram handmade paper from St Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset. The print is in a limited edition of 75 and signed by the artist. The image size is 30 x 20 cm on a paper size is 45 x 35 cm.
